Granted, I liked some stories better than others (probably everyone will have their own favorites too), but each has its own good points. Having read "Delicious in Dungeon" from the same author (or at least part of it, I've only read two volumes thus far), I was expecting to enjoy it. :)Īll in all each story had its own good and bad things to them but the good far outweighed any negative impact and I hope if you decide to give this volume a chance that you will enjoy it as well. Story 7 (The Inutanis)A family where each member has supernatural powers suddenly finds themselves host to a person who believes there have been murders at the house as they try to cover up the fact that they have powers. I though the guid would turn out to be a different person by the end but it still had a good ending in my eyes. He ends up meeting the sins of his father's past on his journey. Story 6 ("My Child is Precious," Cries the Dragon) A young lord concerned for his father's health seeks a guide to where a dragon lives so he can acquire one of its scales to save his father's life. Learns some important things as he tries to get his life back in order. After coming into some hard times he uses his skill to bring a counterfeit to life and uses the fake to finish his masterpieces to make money and get back into painting. Story 5 (Byakuroku the Penniless) A story about a painter with such amazing talent that if he completed his painting they would come alive and become real. This story also has a 2nd part about the son and his feelings about turning into a werewolf.
Story 4 (Wolves Don't Lie) A mother discovers her son is born with Were Wolf Syndrome (WWS) and has to learn to adapt to a son that is going to turn into a beast part of the month. She decides to do her best to save the poor deity before it is gone forever. Story 3 (My God) A young girl discovers the fish like god of a mountain being torn down for renovations. This is a story about what constitutes a human and a quest of kindness. Story 2 (The Mermaid Refuge) A young man discovers a mermaid trying to make her way to the school up the hill. Story 1 (Dragon Turret) While the creatures in the story are called dragons they are more closely related or are Griffins but that is not important as the human interactions that result from a delay in a war that forces both sides to consider what was is really worth.
